you ever read something so fucking stupid you want to blow your brains out

Bisexual women aren’t straight for dating men

What the everloving fuck

This happened to me a BUNCH after I got married to a man. I’d be like ‘oh, x actress is so cute’ and everyone would be like “but you’re married to a guy, I thought you were straight now?”

Fuckin’ no???

Once back when everyone still thought I was a girl, I started dating this guy, and right at the start I told him I was bi and had dated girls before. And he said he was totally cool with that.

Months later in this (honestly awful in many ways) relationship, I mentioned finding a girl attractive and he lost his shit. Like, legitimately upset. Accusing me of lying to him about my sexuality. I pointed out that I’d very explicitly told him I was bi up front and he’d said he was fine with that. “But you’re dating ME now. Isn’t that whole ‘bisexual’ thing in the past now? Didn’t you get over it? Isn’t that why you’re dating a man now????”

🤨

Wow. The patience, kindness and calm communication skills. Outstanding.

This made me cry. I wish all situations could be handled as perfectly as this

I just want to point out the core of what the diffuser did in this conversation

They recognized that the mother was also expressing a vulnerable truth about herself - that she felt like a bad mother because her child was expressing gender feelings she wasn’t equipped to help with - and met her where she was, a concerned parent with limited information - to point her where she should be heading, research and resources.

Im going to make more of an effort to stop reflexively pushing people away when they express biases and make more of an effort to hear the underlying fears when i can

“it’s easier to love ourselves when we feel loved as ourselves”

damn that is so  powerful though

“it’s easier to

love ourselves when we feel

loved as ourselves”

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
